Samsung consistently releases products that retain their high quality performance without having to raise prices exorbitantly, and the Series 5 LCD TVs that have been released make this balance even more clear. While the Series 3 offers buyers a greater amount of affordability, and the Series 8 has virtually unmatched performance, the Series 5 TVs are a great balance between performance and low cost. One such example is the Samsung LE32B550, an excellent family television with lots of extra features for a comparatively low price.

The Samsung LE32B550 is equipped with all of the features you would expect from an LCD TV. It has a thirty-two inch screen, making it ideal for most family applications. It operates at 1920 x 1080p resolution, which is currently the highest offered for most LCD TVs, and provides better images during movement than 1080i. This is because the 1080p’s progressive scanning redraws images almost twice as quickly as 1080i’s interlaced scanning when they are moving. It also features a contrast ratio of roughly fifty thousand to one, making the whites incredibly bright and the blacks incredibly dark. There is a Wide Color Enhancer 2, making all of the hues much more vivid.

While all of these features dramatically improve the overall quality of the image, many LCD TVs have some problems attributed to them. This includes such effects as motion blur and image tearing due to the low refresh rate, and many gamers complain that they suffer from these to a greater extent during console and PC gaming. However, the Series 5 televisions such as the Samsung LE32B550 are equipped not only with Motion Plus 100Hz, which effectively doubles the television’s refresh rate, but with a Gaming Mode as well, increasing the television’s capability to deal with the higher demands of gaming, making your gaming experience better than ever before. You can use your television as a computer monitor, to browse the web or play your favorite games, and it even comes equipped with a USB 2.0 port for uploading, storing, and playing various media files.

The Anynet+ capability allows users to operate different aspects of the system independently of each other, meaning your television can double as a home music system for parties, or as a large picture viewer or slideshow. The Samsung LE32B550 comes fully HD Ready, and has every feature you’d expect from a standard television, such as a sleep timer.
