There is a hi-low control which can regulate the suction power of the vacuum cleaner which needs to be varied according to different surfaces. The suction settings are also quite appropriate, not ripping my bed sheets off when set to a low setting and doing a sufficiently good job on tougher surfaces like wooden shelves and paneling.
