The DC24 is a very lightweight and compact vacuum cleaner from Dyson which uses the company’s patented Root Cyclone technology to avoid the loss of suction power. It comes with a compressible wand to make storage even easier. The vacuum cleaner also makes use of Dyson’s patented Ball technology which makes maneuverability effortless and steering the machine around obstacles like furniture a lot easier.
I used this cleaner on all kinds of surfaces from tiles to wood to carpet, and each time it impressed me with its ease of use. When you first take it out of its box, you might feel a bit let down for its small size and I advise those of you with bigger hoses to go for a bit larger machine. However, once you read the manual and get started with the cleaner, which takes mere minutes, you will start to appreciate your purchase. The design is excellent with a narrow track that lets you reach into places that no other vacuum cleaner will go. There is a lot less time required for cleaning as it picks up dust and garbage in the first swipe itself. Its ball design works just as great as it claims and turning it is very easy and pleasant compared to the rest of the vacuum cleaners I’ve owned. It has the brushes and the suction unit at the front of the machine which makes picking up garbage more convenient, hence saving much time. Emptying the bin in a dustbin is child’s play, there is a red button provided which does everything, you only have to keep the machine over the dustbin and press it.
The included booklet is only a couple of pages but explains everything well enough, especially the filter cleaning. This may be tricky for you the first time you do it, but you will get it eventually. The collapsing handle makes storing it significantly easier and makes the cleaner even more compact. However, the small size or the lightness of the machine does not make it any less powerful. In fact, it has enough power to make old rugs and carpets look new after being given a thorough cleaning with it! People of old age or those with weaker joints will just love this machine for its portability and efficiency at the same time.
The Dyson DC24 is surely a great vacuum cleaner to have if you live in a small house or flat and I strongly recommend it.
